Our Carrier Vetting Process

We are a broker — which means the quality of our work is the quality of the carriers we put your vehicle on. Here is the checklist every carrier passes before we dispatch.

The 4-step checklist

No carrier touches your vehicle until all four steps clear

This is the same process we have run on every dispatch for 14+ years. If a carrier cannot clear any one of these steps, we do not assign them your vehicle — no exceptions.

Step 1: FMCSA authority check

We pull the carrier's record from the FMCSA SAFER system to confirm active operating authority, an acceptable safety standing, and that the USDOT and MC numbers on the truck match the company we hired.

Step 2: Cargo insurance verification

We verify the carrier's cargo insurance coverage directly — confirming the policy is active and appropriate for the trailer type (higher limits for enclosed loads) — before your vehicle is ever assigned to that truck.

Step 3: Driver and route track record

We favor carriers with a proven history on your specific route corridor. A carrier that regularly runs your lane knows its timing, its access constraints and its seasonal patterns — and that experience shows up in on-time, damage-free deliveries.

Step 4: Transparent dispatch

Before the truck arrives, we provide you with the carrier's company name, the driver's direct phone number, and proof of the carrier's insurance certificate. You always know exactly who is picking up your vehicle.

Why it matters

Most problems in this industry start with an unvetted carrier

Delayed pickups, surprise price increases and cargo damage almost always trace back to a broker that assigned a truck without checking it first. Verification is the entire job.

Enterprise Auto Transport is a licensed and bonded auto transport broker (USDOT #2273104, MC #774106). We do not own the trucks — we find, vet and manage the licensed carriers that do. That means our value to you is the rigor of this process, and it is why we publish it openly. You can also verify any carrier yourself, for free, on the FMCSA SAFER system before your pickup date.

Common questions

Carrier verification FAQs

Does Enterprise Auto Transport check a carrier's FMCSA authority before dispatch?
Yes. Before any carrier is assigned to your vehicle, we confirm its operating authority and safety record through the FMCSA SAFER system and verify that its USDOT and MC numbers are active and match the company being dispatched.
Is my vehicle insured while it is being transported?
Your vehicle is covered by the carrier's cargo insurance while it is on the carrier's truck. We verify that coverage before dispatch and can provide proof of the carrier's insurance certificate before pickup.
Will I know who is picking up my vehicle?
Yes. Once your carrier is assigned, we send you the carrier's company name, the driver's direct phone number, and the carrier's insurance information before the truck arrives at your door.
