People retire here, return north every spring, and shuttle back every fall, and almost every one of those moves involves a car that has to travel with them.

The process

How shipping to or from Florida works

Four steps, coordinated from our Southwest Florida home base from the first call to the final signature.

1. Request your quote. Tell us the two addresses, the vehicle and your preferred dates. You speak with a licensed brokerage, not a sales desk, and the booking deposit covers a flat brokerage fee.
2. We assign the carrier. We match your lane to a vetted carrier who already runs Florida and confirm your pickup day.
3. Pickup and inspection. You and the driver walk the vehicle together and note its condition on the bill of lading before it is loaded.
4. Delivery and final payment. You inspect again at delivery and the balance is paid to the carrier. That balance is the only money we do not keep.

Most Florida lanes deliver within a few days of pickup, and coast-to-coast runs generally take about a week. Weather, road construction and seasonal traffic can stretch those windows, so build in a little margin around your dates. Peak snowbird season runs southbound from October through January and northbound from March through May, and those months book first. Ways to ship a car to or from Florida

Every Florida shipment is arranged around the vehicle, the addresses and the calendar.

Open transport. The standard and most economical choice. Your car rides on an open trailer alongside other vehicles and moves on the schedules carriers already run every day.
Enclosed transport. A sealed trailer with soft tie-downs and full weather protection for luxury, exotic, classic and collector vehicles. See enclosed car transport in Florida.
Door-to-door pickup. The carrier loads and delivers at your actual addresses. When a street cannot fit a transporter, we arrange a nearby parking lot or shopping center instead, at no extra cost.
Expedited pickup. A $500 expedited option is available for moves on a firm deadline, including last-minute relocations and seasonal departures, subject to carrier availability and confirmed before a pickup time is promised.

After delivery

New to Florida? Registering your vehicle

If your car is arriving because you are, Florida gives new residents a short window to get plates. Schedule the paperwork soon after delivery day.

•Registration and title work happens at a Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles office, or at your county tax collector. New residents are asked to register a vehicle within 10 days of establishing residency.
•Bring photo ID, proof of Florida insurance (state minimums are $10,000 personal injury protection and $10,000 property damage liability), the out-of-state title, and the current registration. If the car is financed, include the lienholder's name and address.
•The vehicle identification number must be verified on form HSMV 82042. Florida has no mandatory state safety or emissions inspection, so that verification is usually the only vehicle-side step.
•Expect an initial registration fee plus title and license plate fees, which vary by vehicle and county. Check the FLHSMV website for current amounts before your appointment.

Because the registration deadline is measured in days rather than weeks, we recommend booking transport that lands at least a week before you need the car on the road.

Pickup day

Get your car ready for the carrier

A few minutes of preparation keeps the pickup inspection quick and the handoff smooth.

•Leave about a quarter tank of fuel. Less weight, easier handling.
•Remove loose exterior items such as roof cargo boxes, bike racks, antennas and toll transponders if your carrier asks.
•Take personal belongings out of the car. The carrier's cargo policy covers the vehicle, not the items inside it.
•Wash the car before pickup so existing marks are easy to spot during the bill of lading inspection, and have a working key ready for the driver.
