Customer Information Protection

Sharing what a shipment needs while limiting unnecessary exposure of your personal details.

Part of our Safety & Fraud Center, the main resource for vehicle-shipping safety at Enterprise Auto Transport LLC.

Some sharing is necessary to move your vehicle

A carrier needs enough information to collect and deliver the right vehicle: vehicle details, pickup and delivery locations, contact information for scheduling, and relevant access instructions. Enterprise Auto Transport LLC limits unnecessary sharing while arranging transportation with the assigned motor carrier.

Customer information is not kept entirely within Enterprise. Information needed to arrange and complete the shipment is shared with the parties involved, and service providers may handle information as described in our privacy policy. Our goal is appropriate use, not a promise that information is never shared.

We do not sell or rent your contact details or distribute your quote request to a list of other brokerages. For the handling of an initial inquiry, see our privacy-first auto transport page.

Carrier verification comes before dispatch

Enterprise verifies carriers before dispatch, checking identity, authority and insurance information and reviewing discrepancies. This helps us establish who is assigned to your shipment before coordinating the pickup and delivery.

Verification does not give every person claiming to represent a carrier permission to receive your information. If an unfamiliar caller requests shipment documents, additional personal details or a pickup code, confirm the request with Enterprise before responding.

Third-party inspection apps: useful records, separate privacy questions

A carrier may use an inspection app to record vehicle condition, photos, signatures and a Bill of Lading. That can support a useful transport record, but information entered into a third-party app may also be handled by the app provider under its own terms.

Depending on the app and its settings, a record may contain contact details, pickup or delivery locations, vehicle identifiers and photos. Images can also capture documents or personal belongings you did not intend to include. Do not assume every app has the same sharing, access or retention practices.

  • Ask who operates the app and why the requested information is needed.
  • Ask who can access the inspection record and how you receive your own copy.
  • Read the privacy notice and check whether information may be shared with other parties.
  • If asked to install an app, question permissions unrelated to documenting the vehicle, such as access to your contacts.
  • Remove unrelated sensitive documents and personal items from view before vehicle photos are taken.

Use of a third-party app is not, by itself, evidence of misconduct. If a request seems excessive or unclear, ask Enterprise to help clarify it before providing the extra information. Do not skip required condition documentation; ask how it can be completed appropriately.

Recognize information requests that do not fit the shipment

Pause if someone asks you to forward a full message thread, identity documents, account passwords or a pickup PIN without a clear, verified reason. A caller knowing part of your shipment does not establish that the rest should be shared with them.

A last-minute link or unexpected form can also be a reason to check. Contact Enterprise through the number you already have rather than the contact details in the questionable request. Do not send passwords or unrelated financial documents to someone claiming to arrange a pickup.

If you suspect unauthorized sharing

Keep the message or request and note what information was involved. Contact Enterprise at (239) 273-4649 so we can review the concern and clarify the parties assigned to your shipment. For information held by an inspection app, you may also need to contact its provider about access, retention or removal under its policy and applicable requirements.

Limiting unnecessary sharing and checking who receives information can reduce exposure, but no company can promise that unauthorized access or misuse will never happen.
