Pickup PIN Protection

An extra check before handing over your vehicle, not a replacement for knowing who is collecting it.

Part of our Safety & Fraud Center, the main resource for vehicle-shipping safety at Enterprise Auto Transport LLC.

Why a pickup PIN matters

Someone knowing your name, vehicle or pickup address does not mean they are authorized to collect your car. Enterprise Auto Transport LLC uses a pickup PIN or security code as an additional vehicle-release safeguard to help reduce the risk of an unauthorized pickup.

As the brokerage arranging the shipment, Enterprise checks the assigned motor carrier before dispatch. The PIN adds another check at the handoff; it does not replace carrier verification, your identity checks or the transport paperwork.

Keep the code private until pickup is verified

Follow the instructions provided for your shipment. Do not provide the pickup PIN until the appropriate driver and carrier have been confirmed and your vehicle is ready to be released.

  • Do not post the code in public listings, social media or vehicle photos.
  • Do not forward it to someone simply because they claim to be a dispatcher or driver.
  • Check an unexpected request directly with Enterprise using your existing contact information.
  • If someone else will hand over your car, contact Enterprise in advance about the pickup instructions for that person.

This page explains customer-facing precautions only. Internal security procedures and PIN generation methods are not disclosed.

A code is not proof of identity by itself

If a person knows a code but the driver, carrier or truck information does not match the assignment you received, stop. Do not release the car just because the person has shipment details or says a change was approved.

Call Enterprise at (239) 273-4649 before releasing the vehicle. Legitimate changes can happen, but Enterprise needs to verify a discrepancy rather than have you rely on an unexpected caller's explanation.

If you shared the PIN too early

Contact Enterprise promptly and explain what happened. Do not send the code again, agree to a substitute pickup or release your vehicle until Enterprise confirms how to proceed. Follow the updated instructions for your shipment rather than trying to resolve the issue with an unverified person.

An additional safeguard, not a security guarantee

A pickup PIN can help reduce risk, but no code or verification process can guarantee that theft, impersonation or mistakes will never occur. Continue to review your Bill of Lading, document your vehicle's condition and follow the pickup checks in our Safety & Fraud Center.
