Snowbird Toy Transport from Philadelphia
Row-house access limits in the city, easy suburban and shore-adjacent pickups.
Overview
What this looks like in Philadelphia
Philadelphia's transport picture splits along the city line. Inside the city, row-house streets and permit parking make a curbside tow-away hookup unrealistic in many neighborhoods. In the suburbs and out toward Chester and Bucks counties, it is routine.
Enterprise Auto Transport coordinates the shipment with an appropriate carrier and works the access question out before dispatch.
Jersey Shore storage, Pennsylvania owners
A large share of boats owned by Philadelphia-area households are stored across the river near the shore rather than at home. Pickup often happens in New Jersey even when the customer lives in Pennsylvania, which affects the quote's origin point and sometimes the routing.
I-95 is the corridor and the constraint
Nearly everything out of this market moves down I-95 or its inland alternates. It is the most heavily used seasonal corridor in the country in October and April, and that shows up as tighter pickup windows rather than higher risk.
Suburban storage clusters
Bucks, Montgomery and Chester county storage lots handle most of the region's RVs and trailers. Those are good pickup points with room for a truck to work.
Equipment
What actually moves out of this market
Coastal and bay boats
Often stored at shore-area yards. Salt exposure means trailer frames and bearings corrode faster than freshwater equivalents.
Travel trailers and fifth wheels
Suburban storage pickups. Standard tow-away rules apply on tires, bearings and brakes.
Motorcycles
Steady fall volume south. Garage-stored bikes should be checked for a live battery before pickup day.
Golf carts
Rising volume as owners buy into Florida and Delaware-area communities.
Utility trailers
Frequently moved loaded with seasonal household gear; contents coverage is limited, so ask first.
Corridors
Routes we run on this lane
| Route | What to know |
|---|---|
| Philadelphia → West Palm Beach / Boca Raton | About 1,150 miles. High-volume corridor with real October congestion. |
| Philadelphia → Naples / Fort Myers | Cross-peninsula delivery, well-served lane, strong Pennsylvania presence at the destination. |
| Philadelphia → Charleston / Hilton Head | Roughly 650 miles. Short and comparatively easy to schedule. |
| Philadelphia → Tampa / Sarasota | Frequent boat destination with marina delivery on the receiving end. |
| Philadelphia → Coastal Georgia | A growing alternative for owners who want a warm base without a Florida-length haul. |
Planning
Seasonal timing and local access
Timing
- October is the peak southbound month and I-95 capacity is the limiter, not carrier willingness.
- Spring northbound peaks in April, with a second wave in May.
- Shore-area yards often close for the season earlier than owners expect. Verify hours before you set a date.
- Salt-exposed trailers should be inspected in September, not the week of pickup.
Pickup considerations
- Row-house neighborhoods generally require a meeting point at a commercial lot.
- Bridge and tunnel routing between Pennsylvania and New Jersey affects which pickup points are practical.
- Storage facilities need written release authorization when you are not present.
- Low overhead wires and tree canopy on older suburban streets are a real problem for tall RVs.

Questions
Philadelphia transport FAQs
My boat is stored in New Jersey but I live in Philadelphia. Which address matters?
The one where the equipment physically sits. That is the origin we quote, and it is what determines the routing and the pickup plan.
Do salt-exposed trailers cause problems?
They can. Corroded frames, seized bearings and rusted brake components are common on shore-stored trailers and are the usual reason a tow-away converts to a flatbed haul.
Can you pick up in the city itself?
In some neighborhoods, yes. In row-house blocks with permit parking, almost never. We identify a workable point before dispatch.
Is a Carolina destination easier to schedule than Florida?
In peak season, yes. It is roughly half the distance and outside the tightest part of the seasonal rush.

Not sure what kind of hauler you need?
Don't worry. You don't have to know whether you need a power-only truck, flatbed, enclosed trailer, RV driver or specialized carrier. Just tell us what you're moving, its approximate size, where it's going and when you need it moved. We'll review the shipment and determine what type of transportation is appropriate.
Please note: Anything that rolls on its own wheels must be roadworthy before pickup. The customer is responsible for repairs — tires, bearings, brakes, lights — and for towing and repair costs if the unit becomes disabled in transit.
