Door-to-door is the default for good reason, but there are real cases where a terminal makes life easier. Here is the honest comparison.
It means the driver gets as close to your address as a full-size semi can legally and safely operate. On a wide suburban street that is your driveway. In a dense city, a gated community or a street with low branches and tight turns, it is a nearby lot you agree on with the driver, usually within a few minutes of the address.
This is normal practice, not a downgrade. A ten-car carrier is roughly eighty feet long and cannot legally back down most residential streets.
Terminal service means dropping at or collecting from a storage yard on the carrier's route. It can help when your schedule is unpredictable, when you are traveling and cannot meet a driver, or when you need the vehicle stored for a few days between legs of a move.
The tradeoffs are real: your car sits in a yard, storage fees accrue after the free window, and you drive to the terminal on both ends. For most customers the savings do not justify it.
Give us a real mobile number for the person meeting the truck, name a backup contact, and mention up front if your address has a gate code, HOA restrictions, a narrow entrance or overhead wires. Every one of those is easy to plan around and expensive to discover on delivery day.
