Can I put belongings in my car?

Personal items are not covered by the carrier's cargo insurance and add weight the carrier is not licensed to haul as freight. Many carriers will accept a modest amount — typically up to around 100 pounds in the trunk, below the window line — but this is carrier-specific and must be agreed in advance. Never leave valuables, documents or firearms in the vehicle.
