Burr Ridge ↔ Southwest Florida
Burr Ridge Auto Transport to Southwest Florida
Enterprise Auto Transport arranges vehicle transportation between Burr Ridge, Illinois and Southwest Florida - Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Marco Island and Sanibel Island - southbound for the season and northbound again in the spring.
Car shipping between Burr Ridge, Illinois and Southwest Florida
Burr Ridge spans portions of DuPage and Cook counties, and the Village identifies convenient access to I-55, I-294 and Route 83 as an important part of its transportation position. For a driver hauling a loaded transporter roughly 1,345 miles to the Gulf Coast, that is about as good a regional starting point as Chicagoland offers - the approach stays on the interstate system almost the whole way in, and the southbound departure is immediate.
Then the job steps down a layer at a time, and this is where Burr Ridge differs from its neighbours. Off the interstates the truck joins the local roads - County Line Road, central to the geography of a village divided between two counties; Plainfield Road, historically significant to how the community developed; Madison Street, 79th Street, 91st Street and the I-55 frontage roads. From there it enters a community the Village itself describes as a deliberate transformation of farmland and woodland into low-density development, with woodlands, ponds and wetlands preserved and residential growth particularly significant between 1970 and 2000. And then, last, there is your street, your entrance and your driveway.
That is the distinction to hold onto on this lane. Getting a transporter to Burr Ridge is usually straightforward, because the interstate network puts it within easy reach. Getting the same transporter to the exact front door is a separate question, because residential access here depends on the final street, the entrance and the driveway - and the assigned driver answers that one.
We are an owner-operated, federally licensed and bonded broker, BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, serving customers since February 2012. We arrange transportation with qualified motor carriers, and our home base is in Naples, at the receiving end of this route. There is no Enterprise Auto Transport office in Burr Ridge; the same Naples-based team handles your shipment from quote through delivery.

The Burr Ridge end
Collecting a vehicle in Burr Ridge
Door-to-door means we ask the carrier to load at your address. Whether that happens in your driveway, at the kerb or a short distance away is decided by the assigned driver, looking at what is actually in front of him against the equipment he is running - not by a policy written in advance.
Three regional roads, one easy approach
The Village points to convenient access to I-55, I-294 and Route 83, and for a long-distance car carrier that combination is genuinely valuable. I-55 is the south-west diagonal and the natural line toward the long haul; I-294 is the tollway that moves heavy vehicles around the metropolitan area without going through it; Route 83 carries the north–south movement between them. A driver can reach the edge of Burr Ridge on roads built for his size and leave the same way. What none of the three does is make a residential street wider or a driveway easier to turn into.
County Line Road and the local layer
County Line Road matters here for a reason that is specific to Burr Ridge: the village spans portions of DuPage and Cook counties, and County Line runs through the middle of that geography. It is the road a driver uses to move between the two halves of the community. Plainfield Road is the other one worth naming, historically significant to how Burr Ridge developed and still a useful east–west connection. Madison Street, 79th Street, 91st Street and the frontage and access roads along I-55 fill in the rest. This is not a street directory - those are simply the roads a truck stays on for as long as it can, because they were built for through movement.
A low-density community, not a uniform one
The Village describes its own history as an intentional move from open farmland and woodland to low-density development, preserving woodlands, ponds and wetlands, with residential growth particularly significant between 1970 and 2000. In practice that produces residential areas where a carrier may encounter larger properties, longer driveways, curving streets, landscaped entrances, mature vegetation and limited turning opportunities. We are not going to tell you every Burr Ridge residence has those characteristics, because it does not, and we are not going to write an estate narrative around every customer. These are conditions the assigned carrier evaluates where they exist.
Private roads and cul-de-sacs: geometry
Village materials recognise private-road access and dead-end and cul-de-sac road configurations, so these are a real feature of the local street pattern and worth discussing plainly. The operational issue is geometry and nothing more dramatic. A full-size multi-car transporter needs enough room to enter, manoeuvre, load safely and leave safely. A road that works perfectly for a passenger vehicle may still not give a long truck and trailer the turning room it needs. We do not claim that any particular private road prohibits car carriers, we do not invent association rules, and we do not say all cul-de-sacs are inaccessible - many work fine. The driver measures the specific one.
The driveway is its own decision
A large home or a large property does not automatically mean a loaded transporter should come up the drive. Before committing, a driver weighs driveway width, the angle of the turn in, slope, the pavement surface and what it will bear, landscaping and kerbing at the edges, overhead tree limbs, gate width, whether there is turnaround space, whether he can exit forward, trailer clearance where the slope changes, and ground conditions after rain. Where the access suits the equipment and the driver judges it safe, direct pickup at the residence may be possible. Otherwise the driver and customer coordinate another suitable location. We never assume a carrier will simply drive onto private property.
Commercial Burr Ridge is a different road
It would be wrong to portray the whole village as difficult for carriers. Burr Ridge also contains significant commercial, retail and industrial development - the Village references Village Center, County Line Square and its business and industrial areas - and those corridors present a completely different road environment from a curving residential street: wider pavement, commercial turning radii, through traffic already used to large vehicles. We mention them to describe that contrast and for no other reason. None of them is an approved transporter loading location, and we do not present private commercial property as a place to meet a truck.
Roadway and interchange work in the I-55 and I-294 area can temporarily affect the final approach into Burr Ridge. The assigned carrier plans the local route on current traffic and ramp conditions, which is why we do not print closure schedules here that would be wrong within a season. If loading directly at the residence is not practical, you and the driver coordinate a nearby safe and legal location.
Both ends of the trip
When access needs checking in Illinois and in Florida
Burr Ridge makes one point unusually clear: final-mile access can be a question at both ends of the same shipment.
A customer can have a private entrance, a long driveway or a cul-de-sac in Burr Ridge, and a gated or access-controlled community at the Southwest Florida end. Neither is a problem on its own. Together they simply mean the carrier evaluates the last few hundred feet twice - once before pickup, once before delivery. We would far rather have that conversation when you book than have a driver discover it with a loaded trailer and a schedule to keep.
So we ask about both ends up front: what the entrance and driveway look like in Illinois, and whether the Florida address involves a gate, a guarded entry or an association that decides for itself whether a commercial truck comes in. Where either end does not suit the equipment, a nearby safe and legal point is agreed in advance and the service remains door-to-door in the ordinary sense. Our gated community delivery page sets out how the Florida half is handled, and how booking works covers the sequence from quote to delivery.
Ship the car, fly down
Burr Ridge airports and the seasonal pattern
Very few people here drive 1,345 miles twice a year. They send the vehicle and fly.
The Village identifies proximity to both Chicago Midway International Airport and O'Hare International Airport as part of its location advantages, and from Burr Ridge's southwest-suburban position Midway is often the more natural choice - it sits on the same side of the metropolitan area and the approach does not require crossing it. O'Hare remains worth checking for the wider choice of nonstop service to the Gulf Coast. We will not print drive times to either, because traffic here varies far too much for a number on a web page to be honest. At the Florida end you are almost always landing at Southwest Florida International (RSW) in Fort Myers, with Punta Gorda (PGD) serving Cape Coral and north Lee County.
The sequence repeats every season: release the vehicle in Burr Ridge a few days before you travel, fly with luggage only, and take delivery at or shortly after you land. Enterprise Auto Transport transports the vehicle and nothing else - we do not book flights, provide airport transportation, transfers, rides to Midway or O'Hare, or parking. We schedule the vehicle around your travel dates, and someone you authorize can release or receive it if the two do not line up. If you are landing at RSW, our RSW airport auto transport page covers that hand-off.
Southwest Florida
Where Burr Ridge vehicles are delivered on the Gulf Coast
Southwest Florida is the Gulf Coast service region covering Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties. The cities below are communities inside that region, not separate service areas.
Naples
Collier County, and the most common destination on this lane. Many Naples addresses sit on private streets behind staffed gates - so a customer who already thought about driveway access in Burr Ridge meets the same question again, in a different form, at the other end.
Bonita Springs
South Lee County, between Naples and Estero. Bonita Bay, Pelican Landing and Spanish Wells are gated; the Bonita Beach Road and US-41 frontage gives a driver simple staging when a community will not admit a carrier.
Estero
Directly off I-75 at Corkscrew Road, one of the quickest stops on the route. The Corkscrew commercial frontage works well as a meeting point for gated addresses nearby.
Fort Myers
Lee County's hub and the nearest major delivery point to RSW. Parts of the McGregor Boulevard banyan canopy are genuinely too low for a full-size open carrier, so those deliveries are often staged close by.
Cape Coral
An enormous grid of canal-front residential streets. Many interior streets finish in tight cul-de-sacs - the same geometry question a Burr Ridge cul-de-sac raises - which can move a delivery out to Del Prado or Pine Island Road.
Marco Island
South of Naples over the Jolley Bridge on SR-951. Condominium towers and tight island streets mean deliveries are frequently staged at a larger agreed location before the driver heads over.
Sanibel Island
Reached over the Sanibel Causeway from Fort Myers. Island roads, the causeway toll and limited turning room mean a full-size carrier often hands off on the mainland side by prior arrangement.

Both directions
Northbound: Southwest Florida back to Burr Ridge
The return leg gets the same attention as the trip south. Each spring we arrange transportation from Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Marco Island and Sanibel back to Burr Ridge, with bookings concentrated from March into early May. Northbound is not a footnote on this lane - it is the half that most often goes wrong elsewhere, because it gets booked late, once the Florida season is already ending and every carrier running north is full.
The access question changes ends, and on this lane it changes character too. Southbound, the awkward part is usually in Florida: a guard gate, an association's rules, an island causeway. Northbound it is the Burr Ridge end - the driveway the driver has to judge, the curving street, the cul-de-sac bulb, the private road, whatever the ground is like after a wet spring. Spring returns also coincide with construction season on the I-55 and I-294 approaches, so the final route is planned on current conditions rather than assumed.
The booking mechanics are identical in both directions: same estimate structure, same carrier vetting, same inspection at both ends, same flat brokerage fee disclosed up front. If you want the vehicle waiting at home when you land at Midway or O'Hare, say so at booking - that is a scheduling matter, and far easier to arrange with notice.
