Arlington Heights Auto Transport to Southwest Florida
Enterprise Auto Transport arranges vehicle transportation between Arlington Heights, Illinois and Southwest Florida - Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Marco Island and Sanibel Island - southbound for the season and northbound again in the spring.
Car shipping between Arlington Heights, Illinois and Southwest Florida
Arlington Heights sits in Cook County among Chicago's northwest suburbs, and its own transportation plan names the two expressways that define how anything large reaches it: Illinois Route 53, running along the western side of the community with several access opportunities into it, and the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway - I-90 - across the southern portion of the area, carrying regional traffic toward Chicago and O'Hare. For a driver hauling a loaded transporter roughly 1,390 miles to the Gulf Coast, that is a genuinely favourable starting position: the approach stays on the regional highway system almost the whole way in.
From there the job steps down a layer at a time. Off IL-53 or I-90, the truck joins the arterial network the Village identifies - Arlington Heights Road as the principal north–south roadway, with Algonquin, Dundee, Golf, Lake Cook, Northwest Highway, Palatine and Rand carrying the cross movements. Then there is the Union Pacific Northwest line running through the community to the Arlington Heights station, which shapes how traffic crosses town and how the downtown behaves. And then, finally, there is your street. That last step is where an Arlington Heights pickup is decided, and it is the one an easy expressway approach can lull people into overlooking.
We are an owner-operated, federally licensed and bonded broker, BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, serving customers since February 2012. We arrange transportation with qualified motor carriers, and our home base is in Naples, at the receiving end of this route. There is no Enterprise Auto Transport office in Arlington Heights; the same Naples-based team handles your shipment from quote through delivery.

The Arlington Heights end
Collecting a vehicle in Arlington Heights
Door-to-door means we ask the carrier to load at your address. Whether that happens at your kerb or a short distance away is decided by the assigned driver, looking at what is actually in front of him against the truck and trailer he is running - not by a policy written in advance.
Two expressways, two different jobs
The Village's transportation plan treats IL-53 and I-90 as the expressway pair serving the network, and they do not do the same work. IL-53 runs down the western side of the community and offers multiple access opportunities into it, so it is the route that gets a truck alongside Arlington Heights and lets the driver choose where to turn in. I-90 runs across the southern portion of the area and is the regional connection - east toward Chicago and O'Hare, west and onward for the long haul. Most southbound loads leave by way of I-90. What neither does is deliver a carrier to a front door, and no expressway makes a residential street wider.
Arlington Heights Road does the heavy lifting
The Village describes Arlington Heights Road as the principal north–south roadway, and its southern portion, running down toward I-90, carries particularly substantial traffic. We are not going to print an old count as if it were measured this morning - the useful fact is simply that this is a significant, busy arterial and a driver plans around it rather than through it at the worst hour. Crossing it with Algonquin, Dundee, Golf, Lake Cook, Northwest Highway, Palatine and Rand, that arterial grid is the layer the truck stays on as long as it can, because it is built for vehicles of its size.
An active commuter corridor through town
Metra's Union Pacific Northwest line runs through the community and serves the Arlington Heights station. For a carrier this is a routing and timing matter: an active corridor splits the town, and an approach that looks direct on a map may mean waiting at a crossing, particularly in the commuter peaks. If your address is on the opposite side of the tracks from the direction the truck is coming, saying so at booking genuinely helps. What we will not do is turn rail into something it is not - no invented train frequencies, no freight counts, no low bridges, no clearance restrictions. Crossings influence the final approach; they do not create a clearance problem for a transporter.
Downtown is a different environment
The downtown street network around the Metra station puts several things in a small area at once: rail activity, people on foot, businesses, constant kerb turnover, parked vehicles and closely spaced intersections. Compared with the arterial layer a few blocks away, the loading opportunities are simply tighter. A transporter is not automatically prohibited downtown, and we do not pretend otherwise - the real question is whether a particular spot gives the assigned equipment safe and legal space to stop and work. For a downtown or near-downtown address, that often means loading a short distance off, arranged in the driver's call rather than discovered on the day.
Easy to reach, still a judgement at the kerb
This is the distinction worth holding onto here, and it is not the one other suburbs raise. There are no estates or private drives to negotiate; Arlington Heights is a well-connected village of ordinary residential blocks. A carrier can arrive efficiently by IL-53 or I-90 and the arterial network and still find that a specific block does not offer room to stop and manoeuvre - width, cars along both kerbs, the turning radius at the corner, trees over the roadway, the school run, a crossing nearby, roadwork, the length of the equipment. Good regional access and a straightforward final block are two separate questions, and the driver answers the second one.
Meeting away from the door
When the address does not suit the equipment, the fix is ordinary and agreed in advance: suitable public pavement nearby, usually on the wider arterial frontage, with the driver choosing it against the rig he is actually running. We deliberately do not name a shopping centre, business or office lot as a meeting point - those are private property, loading a car carrier there needs the owner's permission, and a name printed on a web page is not permission. It costs nothing extra and is generally a few minutes from your door.
Tollway maintenance and interchange work can temporarily affect the final approach from I-90. The assigned carrier uses current traffic and ramp conditions when planning the local route into Arlington Heights, which is why we do not print closure schedules here that would be wrong within a season. If loading directly at the residence is not practical, you and the driver coordinate a nearby safe and legal location.
Ship the car, fly down
Arlington Heights airports and the seasonal pattern
Very few people here drive 1,390 miles twice a year. They send the vehicle and fly.
O'Hare is the airport that matters on this route, and the reason is the same road that matters to the carrier: the Village identifies I-90 as its important connection toward Chicago and O'Hare. That makes the airport an easy run from most of the village and gives you the widest choice of nonstop service to the Gulf Coast. Midway is the other Chicago commercial airport and is a reasonable alternative when the fare or the schedule favours it, but it is a considerably longer trip from the northwest suburbs and does not need to drive the plan. At the Florida end you are almost always landing at Southwest Florida International (RSW) in Fort Myers, with Punta Gorda (PGD) serving Cape Coral and north Lee County.
The sequence repeats every season: release the vehicle in Arlington Heights a few days before you travel, fly with luggage only, and take delivery at or shortly after you land. Enterprise Auto Transport transports the vehicle and nothing else - we do not book airline reservations, provide airport transfers or rides to O'Hare, or arrange parking. We schedule the vehicle around your travel dates, and someone you authorize can release or receive it if the two do not line up. If you are landing at RSW, our RSW airport auto transport page covers that hand-off.
Southwest Florida
Where Arlington Heights vehicles are delivered on the Gulf Coast
Southwest Florida is the Gulf Coast service region covering Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties. The cities below are communities inside that region, not separate service areas.
Naples
Collier County, and the most common destination on this lane. Many Naples addresses sit on private streets behind staffed gates, so a delivery that began on a wide-open northwest-suburban arterial can end at an entrance that decides its own admissions.
Bonita Springs
South Lee County, between Naples and Estero. Bonita Bay, Pelican Landing and Spanish Wells are gated; the Bonita Beach Road and US-41 frontage gives a driver simple staging when a community will not admit a carrier.
Estero
Directly off I-75 at Corkscrew Road, one of the quickest stops on the route. The Corkscrew commercial frontage works well as a meeting point for gated addresses nearby.
Fort Myers
Lee County's hub and the nearest major delivery point to RSW. Parts of the McGregor Boulevard banyan canopy are genuinely too low for a full-size open carrier, so those deliveries are often staged close by.
Cape Coral
An enormous grid of canal-front residential streets. The layout reads as familiar, but the interior streets are narrower than a northwest-suburban block and many finish in tight cul-de-sacs, which can move a delivery out to Del Prado or Pine Island Road.
Marco Island
South of Naples over the Jolley Bridge on SR-951. Condominium towers and tight island streets mean deliveries are frequently staged at a larger agreed location before the driver heads over.
Sanibel Island
Reached over the Sanibel Causeway from Fort Myers. Island roads, the causeway toll and limited turning room mean a full-size carrier often hands off on the mainland side by prior arrangement.

Both directions
Northbound: Southwest Florida back to Arlington Heights
The return leg gets the same attention as the trip south. Each spring we arrange transportation from Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Marco Island and Sanibel back to Arlington Heights, with bookings concentrated from March into early May. Northbound is not a footnote on this lane - it is the half that most often goes wrong elsewhere, because it gets booked late, once the Florida season is already ending and every carrier running north is full.
The access question changes ends. Southbound, the awkward part is usually in Florida: a guard gate, an association's rules, an island causeway. Northbound, it is the Arlington Heights end - a residential block lined with parked cars, a downtown address near the station with no kerb space to work in, or an arrival timed against the commuter peak on Arlington Heights Road rather than dropped whenever the truck happens to reach town. Spring returns also coincide with construction season, so the driver plans the final approach on current conditions rather than a fixed route.
The booking mechanics are identical in both directions: same estimate structure, same carrier vetting, same inspection at both ends, same flat brokerage fee disclosed up front. If you want the vehicle waiting at home when you land at O'Hare, say so at booking - that is a scheduling matter, and it is far easier to arrange with notice.
